Request your DM export from Meta
Head to Instagram's account-data portal. One-time request, takes 2 to 24 hours. We'll walk you through the one setting that matters before you go.

Wait for Meta's email
Meta sends a download link by email — usually a few minutes for small archives, up to 24 hours for very large ones. Subject line: "Your information is ready to download". The link expires after 4 days, so download it as soon as it arrives.
